Job summary

Freeport-McMoRan is seeking a Mechanical Engineering professional for its Bagdad operations in Arizona. The role focuses on performing root cause analysis of equipment failures, implementing corrective actions, and ensuring continuous production by mitigating downtime.

The position requires a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering, strong safety awareness, and the ability to analyze CMMS data and report KPIs. Housing is subsidized in Bagdad as part of the site offering.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• Knowledge of the principles and practices of Mechanical Engineering.
• Ability to research and analyze information of considerable difficulty and draw valid conclusions.
• Ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions.
• Skilled in following safety practices and recognizing hazards.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.

Responsibilities

• Participates as a team member to perform root cause analysis of equipment failures and assist in the identification and implementation of corrective actions or technologies.
• Consider cost impact for recommended action plans for correcting downtime issues on installed equipment.
• Ensure continuous production is uninterrupted by equipment failures.
• Reports on Key Performance Indices.
• Analyze current CMMS data for equipment health indicators and prepare reports.
• Perform onsite evaluation of existing processes and equipment and make recommendations for improvement.
• Perform other duties as required.

What We Offer You

The estimated annual pay range for this role is currently $80,000 - $110,000. This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills and other job-related factors. This role is eligible for additional discretionary and incentive payment considerations based on company and individual performance. More details will be shared during the hiring process.
