Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from EAC/ABET certified school.
• Experience in HVAC or Plumbing design.
• Engineer in Training certification preferred, PE a plus.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Ability to work well in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Calculate heating and cooling loads using Carrier HAP software to size equipment.
• Estimate energy use and savings using EQuest and other simulation programs.
• Lay out ductwork, piping and equipment using AutoCAD software.
• Model building HVAC and plumbing systems using Autodesk Revit software.
• Survey buildings: take photos, measurements, assess equipment.
• Calculate pipe sizes for refrigeration systems using Excel and other tools.
• Answer construction questions relevant to your designs.
• Meet with utilities to work out building connections.
• Perform energy code compliance calculations.
• Model buildings for LEED Energy credits.
