Job summary

CyberCoders is seeking a detail-oriented Mechanical Engineer to design, analyze, and support HVAC and MEP systems for commercial and industrial projects. You will develop drawings in AutoCAD, perform calculations, and collaborate with project teams to deliver safe, code-compliant solutions.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering, EIT certification, 2+ years of HVAC/MEP design experience, and strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering; master's degree preferred.
• EIT certification required; PE license is a plus.
• 2+ years' experience designing HVAC/MEP for commercial or industrial projects.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and load calculation tools.
• Familiarity with ASHRAE, IMC, NEC codes and permitting processes.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and refine mechanical system designs for HVAC, plumbing, and other MEP components using AutoCAD and engineering principles.
• Prepare calculations, equipment selections, and load analyses to ensure performance and energy efficiency.
• Create and review construction drawings, specifications, and shop drawings; coordinate revisions with architects, contractors, and consultants.
• Perform site visits to observe installation progress, verify design intent, and resolve technical issues.
• Support project management activities including scheduling, cost estimation, and document control.
• Ensure designs comply with codes, standards, and permitting processes.
• Mentor junior engineers and technicians, provide technical guidance, and participate in peer reviews.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate mechanical systems with structural, electrical, and architectural elements.
