Job summary

Figure is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to design, test, and implement hardware components for humanoid arms. You will design parts in 3D CAD, build prototypes, test motion, and contribute to robust, manufacturable solutions.

The role requires 2+ years in mechanical engineering, a degree in mechanical/ robotics/ mechatronics, and experience with actuators and electromechanical integration. US base salary ranges from $120k to $250k per year.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical, Biomechanical, Robotics, Mechatronics, or similar field.
• 2+ years of mechanical engineering experience.
• Expert in using 3D CAD software to design parts with complex geometry.
• Experience designing and building prototypes.
• Experience with simulation and analysis methodologies (FEA, MATLAB).
• Ability to write and maintain clean design documentation.
• Experience with actuators (strain-wave, planetary, or cycloidal).
• Experience with electromechanical integration (sensors, motors, motor drivers, wire harnesses, buses).

Responsibilities

• Design parts in 3D CAD that meet load, form factor, and durability requirements.
• Build prototypes to test assembly, motion range, and wiring.
• Create accurate 2D drawings using GD&T per ASME Y14.5.
• Collaborate with GSM team to select suppliers and order parts.
• Inspect first articles, build test stands, and support robot development platforms.
