Job summary

Schindler in Hanover, PA is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to plan and implement fabrication and assembly of prototype components, interpret requirements, and support manufacturing improvements.

You will work with Creo and AutoCAD, apply lean manufacturing practices, lead cross‑functional teams, and contribute to cost and quality improvements while traveling less than 20%. Bachelor’s degree in ME/IE/EME and 2–4 years of related experience required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or Electro-Mechanical Engineering.
• 2–4 years of related experience preferred.
• Experience in a lean manufacturing environment is preferred.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Demonstrated experience with CAD software such as PTC Creo and AutoCAD.
• Experience with hands-on assembly of mechanical equipment is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement fabrication and assembly of prototype components as determined by design complexity.
• Interpret requirements and specifications to understand systems for used components.
• Participate in change management activities within the supply chain.
• Support global development and implementation activities as a technical resource.
• Lead implementation/execution efforts related to new and existing product lines at the factory or with vendors.
• Coordinate technical projects across non- and cross-functional teams.
