SGS Consulting in Sacramento, CA is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to develop gas plans and construction procedures for utility projects. You will create detailed operation procedures, support valve operations and monitoring, and coordinate with field crews and technical teams.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering and 2–5 years of relevant experience, with familiarity in AutoCAD, piping dynamics, and gas/water meter equipment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
• 2–5 years of engineering experience required.
• Experience with gas and water meter equipment is preferred.

Responsabilités

• Develop and manage gas plans and construction procedures for utility projects
• Create detailed step-by-step construction and operational procedures
• Develop project-specific schematics and AutoCAD line diagrams
• Support valve operations, sequencing, pressure monitoring, and control point identification
• Evaluate mechanical systems, reliability, and operational effectiveness
• Support pipeline and utility infrastructure engineering activities
• Coordinate with construction crews, engineers, supervisors, and technical teams
• Review and improve procedures based on field feedback and operational requirements
• Support quality, safety, and process improvement initiatives
• Work with proprietary software and engineering documentation tools
