Job summary

Mercor is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Expert for remote contract work. You will own Fortune 500-scale product designs and manufacturing processes, leading multi-stakeholder reviews and certification programs.

You will apply FEA/CFD, GD&T, and Six Sigma methods using SolidWorks, ANSYS, CATIA, MATLAB/Simulink, and PLM systems (Teamcenter, Windchill) to produce reference designs and analyses for enterprise applications.

Qualifications

• 5+ years as a mechanical engineer or engineering lead at a Fortune 500 industrial, automotive, aerospace, or manufacturing company.
• Direct ownership of Fortune 500-scale product designs, manufacturing processes, or engineering certification programs.
• Prior rubric, engineering-training curriculum, or design documentation authorship preferred.

Responsibilities

• Construct enterprise mechanical engineering scenarios for complex product design cycles and manufacturing or regulatory certification at Fortune 500 accounts.
• Build tasks across Fortune 500 product design and CAD modeling, thermal/fluid systems analysis, structural and stress analysis, manufacturing process engineering, and reliability/failure analysis.
• Develop engineering scenarios using SolidWorks, ANSYS, CATIA, MATLAB/Simulink, and enterprise PLM systems (Siemens Teamcenter, PTC Windchill).
• Apply enterprise mechanical engineering methodologies (FEA/CFD, Six Sigma/DFSS, GD&T) to produce reference design specifications and analyses.
• Author rubrics that distinguish authentic enterprise mechanical engineering judgment from generic coursework recall.

• Direct ownership of Fortune 500 -scale product designs, manufacturing processes, or engineering certification programs.
