Mechanical Engineer (Fluid Systems/Propulsion) sought for a fast-growth startup business who are hugely scaling and are massively mission driven - focused on water sustainability and science through groundbreaking technology & innovation. The Mechanical Engineer (with pump design or rate manufacturing experience) to come and join and lead the design and optimization of the main pump of their products as well as build and test pump prototypes to validate performance.

As a Mechanical Engineer (Fluid Systems/Propulsion) you will be ensuring the pump meets standards for performance as well as designing for manufacturability, ensuring the pump can be scaled as well as building and testing prototypes to validate performance.

Location: South LA

Key Responsibilities:

• Leading the design and optimization of the main pump for the water systems products
• Researching lightweight materials to optimize performance
• Working with suppliers and manufacturing partners to refine production methods
• Conducting testing to ensure the pump achieves high reliability

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar with a focus on fluid systems or propulsion engineering
• Proficient in CAD and FEA software packages
• 2+ years of experience in mechanical or electromechanical design
• Strong experience designing and testing high pressure pumps or fluid systems OR strong experience with material selection
• Familiar with techniques such as DFM or DFA
• Able to collaborate across multi disciplinary teams

This role is offering between $120,000-150,000 depending on experience + equity + healthcare plus other benefits
