Job summary

Gilder Search Group is seeking a Mechanical Engineer for a Casper, WY, oil & gas equipment manufacturer. You will own projects from quote through detailed design and fabrication support in a hands-on role.

Requirements include ABET-accredited degree (or 15+ years hands-on), 3-5+ years in engineered-to-order manufacturing, and familiarity with ASME, API, NFPA, and ANSI codes. Salary range $110k-$150k with comprehensive benefits and ESOP.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited degree or 15+ years hands-on design/engineering experience.
• 3-5+ years in engineered-to-order manufacturing.
• ASME/API/NFPA/ANSI codes knowledge.
• Process control systems design experience.
• NFPA electrical area classification experience.
• Pressure vessel & piping code calculations in fabrication shops.
• Cross-discipline collaboration across mechanical, process, and structural.
• Ownership of projects from proposal to fabrication support.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate customer-supplied data to define engineering requirements for quoting and detailed design.
• Develop and redline P&IDs to communicate project requirements to estimating and drafting.
• Perform equipment sizing calculations using process simulation software and in-house engineering tools.
• Perform code calculations for pressure vessels, piping, control valves, relief valves, and pressure regulators.
• Review and approve 3D models and drawings for assigned projects against engineering standards.
• Engage directly with customers, project managers, and the commercial team to resolve scope gaps and flag scope changes.
• Own assigned projects from the proposal/quote stage through detailed engineering and into fabrication support.
• Work across mechanical, process, and structural considerations rather than one narrow discipline.
