Job summary

Everforth ECS seeks a Mechanical Engineer in Chantilly, VA to support the design and development of electromechanical assemblies including imaging radars and range safety systems. You will create 3D models, 2D drawings, and maintain parts through MRP, while collaborating with senior engineers and suppliers to ensure manufacturability and quality.

The role requires a BS in Mechanical Engineering, 2–4 years of experience, and proficiency with Autodesk CAD, GD&T, and BOM management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
• 2-4 years professional experience.
• Proficiency with ASME standards, 2D/3D CAD, dimensioning and tolerancing, and design-for-manufacturing.
• Ability to generate and interpret 2D drawings and understand manufacturing processes.
• Experience with Bill of Materials.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.

Responsibilities

• Create, maintain, and update designs for electronic and mechanical systems with reliability and manufacturability focus.
• Develop and maintain engineering standards for the mechanical group and company products.
• Produce complete 3D models and 2D drawings per ECS standards and ASME guidelines.
• Research components to meet design intent, performance, and cost objectives.
• Utilize MRP to define parts and assemblies for manufacturing.
• Support manufacturing by gathering feedback and implementing improvements.
• Collaborate with senior engineers, production staff, and stakeholders.
• Coordinate with external providers to ensure sub-contracted parts meet requirements.
• Participate in design reviews and ensure designs meet specifications and best practices.
