Job summary

Lockheed Martin Space is seeking a Loads and Dynamics Analyst to perform stress analyses of missile flight structures and related components. You'll work in a multi-disciplinary team to support design trades and analysis activity, with a contract-award contingency in Sep 2026.

The role requires basic structures knowledge, FE analysis proficiency, and a TS clearance. Experience with Abaqus, NX/Nastran, Matlab, ADAMS, Wave6 and Mathcad is valued.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in finite element analysis principles and rigid/flexible body models
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering or equivalent
  • Ability to obtain/maintain a Top Secret clearance (US Citizenship required)

As a Loads and Dynamics Analyst you will be responsible for performing preliminary and detailed level stress analysis of missile flight structures and mechanisms, electronic components, and ground support equipment using standardized processes and tools. You will work in a multi-disciplined team environment to help with structural design trades and preliminary and detailed design/analysis activity.


Responsibilities Include


  • Modeling and analyzing test components for dynamic behavior and characteristics

  • Preparing technical charts and represent the organization in design reviews and outside contracts

  • Supporting structural load test definition, requirements development, monitoring, data reduction, and comparison to analysis effort

  • Collaborating with designers in developing the most practical design, and selection of materials for primary and secondary structures with adequate structural margins of safety, good load paths, low weight, and high producibility

  • Coordinating with program to forecast level of effort for long term analysis needs


This position is contingent upon contract award expected in Sep 2026.

Researches, plans, designs and develops mechanical products and systems such as instruments, controls, robots, engines, machines and mechanical, thermal hydraulic or heat transfer systems for production, transmission, measurement, and use of energy. Applies research to the planning, design, development, and testing of mechanical and/or electromechanical systems, instruments, controls, engines, and/or machines.


Basic Qualifications


  • Basic understanding of structures and structural dynamics either through education or work experience

  • Proficiency in application of finite element analysis principles as well as rigid and flexible body models

  • A bachelor’s degree in mechanical, aerospace program or equivalent from an accredited college/university and/or equivalent education or experience

  • Willingness/ability to obtain/maintain a Top Secret clearance, US Citizenship Required


Desired Skills


  • A Master's degree is strongly preferred for this position

  • Knowledge of spacecraft or aircraft structural dynamic methods and testing

  • Static, vibration, acoustic, modal, or shock analysis/test experience

  • Experience evaluating designs using rigid body or flexible body analysis methods and tools

  • Utilize software for signal processing and post test data analysis

  • Mechanisms, antenna, electronic component, ground support, hoisting, and test support equipment, and composite materials analysis experience

  • Experience with Abaqus, NX/Nastran, Matlab, ADAMS, Wave6 and Mathcad

  • Ability and desire to assume ownership of tasks and drive to closure quickly and efficiently

  • Creativity/innovation to tackle issues related to anomalous performance of any aspect of a mechanical system

  • Ability to work in a collaborative and highly integrated team environment

  • Proficient in AI prompting as it applies to this position and practice

  • Active or Current Top Secret Clearance


Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $79300.00 - $147300.00

Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
