Job summary

Burns & McDonnell is seeking a Mechanical Engineer in San Diego to contribute to world-class designs across power, process, corporate, healthcare, and more. You will participate in the design and construction process, adapting plans to budget, design factors, or client needs.

You will perform conceptual to final design, update CAD drawings, and assist with client presentations and field inspections. Strong communication and teamwork are essential for success in diverse projects.

Qualifications

• ABET accredited program degree required.
• FE exam for EIT preferred.
• Strong engineering techniques and procedures knowledge.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in CAD/BIM tools and analyses.

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical design from conceptual phase through design completion.
• Modify and review production drawings for a variety of facilities.
• Design mechanical components per project manager requirements.
• Update drawings in CAD software and verify corrections.
• Assist with client presentations, shop drawing reviews, and contract administration.
• Conduct field inspections and measurements as required.
