Job summary

Tesla Laboratories is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support NAVFAC NW Design Division, focusing on HVAC and plumbing design for large-scale DoD projects. The role involves coordinating across teams, ensuring UFC compliance, and delivering technical dashboards for program management.

The ideal candidate has at least 6 years of design management experience, with proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and Power BI, and a strong background in DoD construction standards.

Qualifications

• Design heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems for large construction projects.
• Coordinate with NAVFAC and project stakeholders to meet schedules and budgets.
• Apply DoD UFCs and standards to engineering designs.
• Create project dashboards using Power BI and MS Project for status reporting.
• Possess broad engineering principles and multi-discipline coordination experience.
• Graduate of an accredited Engineering college (4-year degree minimum).

Responsibilities

• Design HVAC and plumbing systems for new construction and renovations with substantial project costs.
• Coordinate design activities and project plans with NAVFAC NW and internal teams.
• Review submittals, RFIs, and cost proposals for compliance with requirements.
• Prepare briefs, meeting minutes, and monthly status reports.
• Develop technical dashboards and perform field inspections as needed.
