Fibertek, Inc. seeks a Mechanical Engineer to support the Humanitarian Demining Program at Fort Belvoir, VA. You will design, construct, and test mechanical demining systems, maintaining and repairing heavy equipment and diagnosing complex mobile systems in lab and field settings.

The role requires 3–5 years of relevant experience, strong CAD skills, and the ability to travel globally for field tests with domestic and international partners. A DoD clearance is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering with 3–5 years of relevant experience.
• Create 3D models, technical drawings and blueprints using CAD and simulation software.
• Experience repairing and maintaining heavy construction and agricultural equipment.
• Strong ability to diagnose and repair complex mobile systems including diesel engines, hydraulics and electrical systems.
• Proficient in heavy equipment operation, welding, fabrication, fault diagnosis and fleet maintenance.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to conduct wiring and repairs.
• Willingness to travel globally to support demining operations (up to 25%).
• Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs.

Responsabilités

• Diagnose failures in diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems and perform fixes.
• Provide operational training for global partners and support field tests.
• Record and analyze test data; write technical reports and recommendations.
• Prepare layouts and drawings for parts manufacturing and assembly.
• Review instructions and blueprints to determine test specs and objectives.
