HDR is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to design critical infrastructure that supports the digital age and shapes spaces where people work, connect, and thrive.

You will coordinate the mechanical design team through schematic design and contract documents, ensure code compliance with authorities, manage workload and schedules, and perform QA/QC with other disciplines. HDR champions employee‑owned culture and collaborative problem solving.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Experience in mechanical system design for commercial or institutional buildings.
• Professional engineering license (PE or P.Eng) recognized by licensing board.
• Experience with architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firms.
• Commitment to employee-owned culture.
• Proficient in MS Office, Trane TRACE or similar software.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate mechanical design team through schematic design to contract documents.
• Lead agency reviews for code compliance.
• Coordinate workload to meet project documents schedule.
• Conduct site work sessions with Project Manager and other disciplines.
• Review documents for conflicts with other disciplines.
• Write and edit mechanical specifications; select equipment and systems.
• Coordinate with disciplines on addenda, RFIs, CPRs, and change orders.
• Provide construction contract administration as needed.
• Conduct QA/QC on other Mechanical Project Engineers, Coordinators or CAD Technicians as needed.
• Perform other duties as needed.
