Ramboll is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer for Data Center Facilities in Los Angeles, CA (or Valhalla, NY). This full-time role focuses on sustainable, mission-critical HVAC design for new and retrofit data center projects.

You will plan and create HVAC systems, perform engineering calculations, develop drawings and specs, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams while managing timelines and budgets. Travel to project sites may be required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience with design engineering firms; mission critical design a plus.
  • Strong grasp of HVAC concepts; ability to apply theory to practice.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD and Revit; strong communication.

Responsibilities

  • Perform HVAC engineering calculations in support of designs.

Responsibilities for Mid-level Mechanical Engineer:
  • Plan, conceptualize, and create HVAC mechanical designs for new and retrofit buildings/projects in the mission critical environment
  • Perform typical HVAC engineering calculations to support design work
  • Create technical drawings, plans, and specifications (using computer software) for review by Sr. Engineer
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary engineering teams, and work with vendors and contractors
  • Ensure project timelines are met and project stays within budget
  • Able to travel to project sites
Qualifications for Mechanical Engineer
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering
  • 5 years (min) of experience working for a design engineering firm, Mission Critical design experience a plus
  • Firm grasp of engineering concepts including theoretical and practical applications for HVAC Systems
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit and Microsoft Office programs
  • Ability to communicate effectively and clearly
  • Must be self-motivated and know project design steps/requirements

Salary Transparency

At Ramboll, we are committed to fair and transparent compensation practices that support our people and our purpose of creating sustainable societies. The anticipated base salary range for this position is $95,000 to $120,000 per year. This range reflects the compensation wereasonablyexpect to offer at the time of posting. Actual compensation will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and internal equity. Because we operate across multiple U.S. markets, pay may differ depending on the cost of labor in specific locations. In addition to base salary, this position may be eligible for bonus, overtime or other forms of compensation and we offer a comprehensive benefits package that supports well-being, professional development, and work-life balance.
