Addison Group in East Pittsburgh, PA is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to design capital equipment and tooling from concept through fabrication. You will collaborate with project management, purchasing, and global engineering teams on innovative machinery.

The role requires 3–5 years of 3D modeling in SolidWorks/Pro/ENGINEER and 3–5 years of 2D drafting in SolidWorks/Pro/ENGINEER/AutoCAD, with hands-on fixture experience and SAP familiarity a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• 3–5 years 3D modeling using SolidWorks and Pro/ENGINEER.
• 3–5 years 2D drafting using SolidWorks, Pro/ENGINEER, and AutoCAD.
• Hands-on experience designing or assembling fixtures preferred.
• Experience with fabrication processes; MS Office familiarity; SAP a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design and draft customer-specific capital equipment using SolidWorks and Pro/ENGINEER.
• Develop mechanical designs, assemblies, components, and detailed manufacturing drawings.
• Design tooling and fixtures for advanced manufacturing technologies.
• Create and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) and engineering documentation.
• Maintain change logs and issue tracking throughout the build process.
• Support equipment startup, commissioning, debugging, and troubleshooting.
• Adapt designs to meet specific customer and project requirements.
• Collaborate with purchasing and suppliers to ensure manufacturability and cost-effectiveness.
• Provide guidance to vendors and internal teams.
• Work with Project Management to incorporate customer requirements into tooling and equipment designs.
• Collaborate with global engineering teams on standardization projects.
• Help evaluate product families and establish standardized component lists.
• Support aftermarket teams with technical assistance.
