Job summary

Washington Equipment Manufacturing Company, Inc. (WEMCO, Inc.) is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to design, develop, and test mechanical components and machinery such as overhead cranes and material handling systems.

You will apply engineering principles to create robust products and contribute to the full lifecycle from concept to production. The role requires 5+ years of experience, a Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering, and proficiency with Autodesk Inventor.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience as a mechanical engineer/designer, preferably in crane/equipment design.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering is required.
• Experience with Autodesk Inventor is preferred.
• Proficient with Excel, Word, and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Assess project requirements.
• Measure performance of mechanical components and engines.
• Use CAD/Modeling software to design and test components.
• Develop and implement designs and test procedures.
• Present designs to managers and clients.
• Analyze and interpret data to improve designs.
• Design mechanical/electromechanical systems considering mechanics, hydraulics, and materials.
• Create manufacturable drawings for production.
• Ensure quality through testing and fabrication validation.
• Prepare product reports and share insights to guide projects.
