About the role:

As a Principal Mechanical Engineer, you will support AP1000 primary components like steam generator, pressurizer, PRHR, core makeup tank, accumulator, and operating plant replacement steam generator design.

You will report to the Manager of Component Design & Management Programs. This role is based in Cranberry Woods, PA, in the Greater Pittsburgh Area, with a hybrid work scenario. No relocation assistance is provided. We consider candidates able to work without sponsorship now and in the future.

Responsibilities:

1. Author technical documentation for AP1000 primary components (e.g., steam generator, pressurizer, PRHR, core makeup tank, and accumulator).
2. Prepare design documentation such as specifications, reports, E&DCRs, and calculation notes for operating plant replacement.
3. Perform calculations and apply ASME Code standards to the design and analysis of reactor vessel internals components.
4. Evaluate nuclear power plant components using Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
5. Support industry guidance development for the safe long-term operation of reactor vessel internals.
6. Prepare technical presentations and written communications for customers and management.
7. Write commercial proposals and prepare cost estimates.
8. Travel domestically and internationally to customer and vendor facilities for on-site support, presentations, or issue resolution.

Qualifications:

1. Minimum 8 years of applicable experience.
2. Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
3. Ability to interpret design documents, including drawings and calculation summaries.
4. Technical leadership skills.
5. Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
