Job summary

Schneider Electric's Andover, MA facility invites a Mechanical Engineering Co-Op for Jan–July 2027 to join a cross-functional product development team focused on power protection solutions. You will help design, test, and iterate sheet metal and plastic enclosures, IT racks, and subassemblies.

You will gain experience with 3D modeling in CREO, PDM workflows, and design for manufacturing and sustainability, while learning Agile development and supporting transition to mass production.

Qualifications

• Freshman, Sophomore, or Junior currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Experience with 3D modeling (CREO preferred).
• Familiarity with Product Data Management (PDM).
• Exposure to Design for Manufacturing and Sustainability.
• Comfortable using basic hand tools.

Responsibilities

• Apply knowledge to design, manufacturing, and assembly processes to produce high value product designs.
• Get an introduction to Agile product development cycle.
• Learn how FEA, CFD, and DFM/DFA tools are used during the product development process.
• Gain experience with sustainable materials, components and processes to optimize carbon footprint.
• Support design verification testing, fabrication tooling and transition to mass production.
• Interact with suppliers, subcontractors, and Schneider Electric teams to plan production requirements.
• Support material documentation, component drawings, BOM and Change order tasks.
