Job summary

Bayer is seeking a Mechanical Engineer Co-Op for a 12-month position in Indianola, PA. You will design and test mechanical components, develop fixtures for hardware testing, and generate test plans and protocols.

Enrollment in mechanical engineering, second-year status, and coursework in statics/dynamics/physics/statistics are essential. CAD, MATLAB, and Python experience are preferred. Compensation ranges from $24.00 to $45.50 per hour, with January or May 2027 start.

Qualifications

Enrollment in Mechanical Engineering degree program
Completion of at least second year of a Bachelor's degree
Classwork in statics, dynamics, physics, and statistics
Attention to detail, positive attitude, good work ethic
Ability to independently troubleshoot
Teamwork experience through coursework, lab work, and/or internship

Responsibilities

Design and test mechanical components and parts
Design and development of mechanical fixtures for hardware testing
Generate hardware test plans and protocols
Analyze test results and compose test reports
Troubleshoot problems during testing and assume ownership of specific test methods and sub-modules
Routinely provide readouts to the larger hardware team about the progress of their work
