Olin Chemicals is seeking a Mechanical Engineer Co-Op for Fall 2027 in Freeport, TX. The role supports maintenance and production with reliability, design, and maintenance of mechanical equipment to ensure safe, efficient operations.

• Provide reliability leadership for rotating and fixed equipment (pumps, compressors, heat exchangers, piping, tanks).
• Support maintenance in developing preventive and predictive policies and procedures.
• Participate in plant turnarounds, update P&IDs, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

This role can serve as the engineering representative on capital projects including justification, obtaining approval, ordering, and installation processes and equipment.

What You'll Do:

Lead a minimum of three hands-on projects throughout the term, to be defined at the beginning of the rotation based on department and business need.Provide reliability leadership for rotating (pumps, compressors) and fixed (heat exchangers, piping systems, and process tanks) equipmentSupport maintenance in development of policies and procedures for preventative and predictive maintenanceParticipate in plant turnarounds, update P&IDs, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives

What You'll Bring:

Enrolled at an accredited college or university majoring in an undergraduate Mechanical Engineering degree programMust have an overall grade point average of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale at all times throughout your time at Olin. An official transcript will be required each term. Cumulative GPA on current institution transcript will be used in transfer college situations.Must have completed sophomore year (or 60 completed credit hours) prior to first rotation with OlinAbility to work full-time (40 hours a week during normal business hours) during rotation; Not eligible for virtual workMust be able to obtain a TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential) and possess a valid US Driver's license*Olin does not provide any form of sponsorship.
