Blueprint Automation is seeking an onsite Mechanical Engineer for our Longmont, CO location. You will lead the mechanical design of system components for standard and custom machinery, owning the master layout and coordinating with controls and software teams to ensure performance, budget, and schedule requirements are met.

The ideal candidate holds a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field with 3 years in manufacturing/robotics, and has hands-on experience with SolidWorks,

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing or related field and 3 years of experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment with robotics experience preferred.
• Combination of experience and/or education will be considered.
• Demonstrated machine design ability; packaging/robotic machines preferred.
• Experience with pneumatics and motor sizing.
• Excellent problem-solving skills.
• Ability to interact and work as a team with other mechanical engineers.
• Knowledge of development processes using SolidWorks, ACAD, FEA and related tools.
• Strong focus on client satisfaction and attention to detail.

Position:

We are currently seeking an onsite Mechanical Engineer at our Longmont, CO location.

The Mechanical Engineer will lead the mechanical design of system components for both standard and custom machinery. This includes full ownership of the master layout and all mechanical design activities. This role must coordinating closely with other mechanical engineers, as well as controls and software teams, to ensure the final solution meets all performance, budget, and schedule expectations.

The ideal candidate is not only passionate about designing machines, but also eager to stay engaged through the build and implementation phases, supporting the team, solving problems, and helping bring the design to life.

Duties include but are not limited to:

• Responsible for the mechanical design of systems from concept through acceptance testing.
• Responsible for master layout and all aspects of the mechanical design, working with and coordinating other mechanical engineers on the project, controls, and software engineers to make sure the design meets performance, budget, and timeline requirements.
• Works closely with the entire Mechanical Engineering department.
• Cooperate closely with all other departments (Controls, Software, Purchasing, Fabrication, Applications, and Service).
• Help generate technical concepts, layouts, technical calculations, and cost calculations.
• Makes customer site visits as necessary to help solve field issues.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Occasional travel may be required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Education/ Experience & Qualifications:

• Minimum of a bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing or a related program and 3 years of experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment that involves robotic experience preferably in the packaging automation industry.
• However, a combination of experience and/or education will be taken into consideration.
• Demonstrated ability in machine design, preferred experience in the field of packaging/robotic machines required.
• Experience with pneumatics, and motor sizing.
• Applicants must possess excellent problem-solving skills.
• Ability to interact and work as a team with other mechanical engineers required.
• Knowledge of mechanical engineering development process utilizing SolidWorks, ACAD, FEA, and related engineering software techniques required.
• High awareness of client satisfaction level and client needs is a must.
• The successful candidate will be a strong problem solver with meticulous attention to detail.
