Job summary

HDR is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to design and coordinate mechanical systems across building typologies, from design through contract documents. You’ll lead the mechanical design team’s work, ensure code compliance, and support project execution in Arlington or Glen Allen.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering, PE license or active pursuit, and 3+ years of experience in commercial or institutional facilities; MS Office and Trane TRACE experience are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Requires professional engineering license or ability to obtain PE license.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the work of the mechanical design team through schematic design to contract documents.
• Be responsible for the design of mechanical systems across a variety of building typologies.
• Coordinate with and assist affected disciplines with addenda, RFIs, CPRs and change orders, and incorporate changes into project documents.
• Provide construction contract administration as needed.
• Conduct QA/QC on the work of other Mechanical Project Engineers or Coordinators.
