Job summary

Burns & McDonnell is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join project teams on a variety of projects including power, process, healthcare, and industrial facilities. You will design mechanical systems, modify drawings, and support project managers throughout design and construction phases.

Ideal candidates bring ABET-accredited education, FE certification, and 3+ years of experience; Master’s degree is a plus. Strong CAD skills (AutoCAD, Revit) and field-standards knowledge are expected.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited BS in Mechanical Engineering with 3+ years of experience.
• FE exam passed with 3+ years of mechanical engineering experience, consulting preferred.
• MS in Mechanical Engineering with 2+ years of experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical design from concept through design completion.
• Review and modify drawings across diverse facilities (power, healthcare, industrial, airports, government).
• Design components per project manager requirements.
• Apply standard mechanical engineering concepts, codes and practices.
• Gather project data and assist in client presentations and shop drawings.
• Conduct field inspections, measurements or calculations for clients.
