SHD Composites in Mooresville, NC is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support advanced composite manufacturing. This hands-on role will improve manufacturing processes, support equipment and tooling design, lead engineering projects, and help scale new products and production capabilities across aerospace, automotive, marine, defense, industrial, and energy applications.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
3+ years of engineering experience in a manufacturing setting.
Proficiency with SolidWorks, AutoCAD or similar CAD software.
Strong communication and multi-priority management skills.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and improve mechanical systems, tooling, and equipment.
Drive safety, quality, productivity, reliability, automation, and cost reduction.
Support new product introductions and scale-up from development to production.
Lead or support capital projects from specifications to installation and budget.
Troubleshoot issues, perform root-cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
Support preventive maintenance and manufacturing reliability initiatives.
Collaborate with R&D, Production, Quality, and vendors.
