Job summary

ASRC Energy Services is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to develop technical deliverables, perform calculations, and ensure compliance with customer documents and industry standards. The role spans from design through as‑built documentation in a multi-discipline setting on projects located in Alaska.

The position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, 5+ years of experience, and a valid driver’s license. Travel and remote Arctic work are possible as part of site projects.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Mechanical Engineer.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
  • Possess a valid state driver’s license.

Responsibilities

  • Review design engineering drawings and ensure conformance to client documents, field philosophy, and applicable code and industry standard requirements such as ASME, API, ANSI, DOT, and other related standards.
  • Prepare system specifications, MTOs, and purchase requisitions.
  • Provide quality review on engineering calculations and develop/write engineering scopes of work and project change requests.
  • Prepare estimates for all project phases.
  • Develop and review schedules for assigned projects.
  • Apply standard design engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria.
  • Gather and record information for writing specifications and preparing technical reports.
  • Report project performance using earned value terms.
  • Review vendor bids to ensure compliance with project design specifications.
  • Coordinate and perform quality control of CAD work prepared by designers.
  • Prepare engineering packages from inception to as‑built documentation.
  • Evaluate field problems and provide solutions.
  • Develop project completion documents.
  • Senior engineers will perform discipline lead duties, supervising and mentoring lower‑level engineers.
  • Comply with company and customer policies and procedures.
  • Support the AES zero‑incident safety culture and assume personal accountability and responsibility for safe work practices in all projects, activities, and operations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Experience
  • Have a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Mechanical Engineer.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
  • Possess a valid state driver’s license.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Professional Engineer license.
  • Oil & Gas experience preferred.

Working Environment

The position is located on the North Slope of Alaska. Lodging and food are provided at camps, which offer amenities such as Wi‑Fi, housekeeping, laundry, commissary, mail, gyms, and a theater room. The employee must meet AES driving records policy, pass a pre‑employment drug test (UA and hair testing), comply with physical requirements for remote Arctic work, pass a Fit‑For‑Duty exam, complete a background check, and obtain an access badge.
