Join DZMC as a Mechanical Engineer 4 and become a vital contributor to our innovative engineering team. This role requires applying advanced mechanical engineering expertise to lead and execute complex projects in the chemical process industry and related sectors. You will have a crucial role throughout project phases, from conceptual front-end engineering to detailed design and construction support, ensuring that technical solutions adhere to rigorous standards of quality, efficiency, and safety.

Our dynamic work environment fosters professional growth and collaboration, offering you the opportunity to influence project outcomes directly while interacting with multidisciplinary teams and industry-leading vendors. Explore a career where your mechanical engineering skills will be challenged and rewarded, where your leadership will inspire teams, and where your technical knowledge will drive the successful execution of sophisticated engineering projects.

As the Mechanical Engineer 4, here is the work you'll do:
  • Lead, mentor, and coordinate a multidisciplinary team of engineers and designers across a portfolio of projects, applying your subject matter expertise to ensure technical excellence and seamless project delivery with minimal oversight.
  • Develop and evaluate conceptual mechanical designs, rigorously assessing alternatives based on parameters such as constructability, performance efficiency, reliability, maintainability, cost-effectiveness, and environmental compliance to optimize project outcomes.
  • Effectively manage mechanical scope changes, ensuring that deliverables are completed within approved budgetary and scheduling constraints, demonstrating strong project management capabilities.
  • Collaborate closely with stakeholders including other engineering disciplines, construction teams, site personnel, vendors, subcontractors, and clients to coordinate and integrate work activities for smooth project execution.
  • Establish and approve detailed work plans, resource allocation, and scheduling for your team and projects, driving productivity and meeting critical deadlines.

  • Champion continuous improvement initiatives by integrating innovative best practices and technologies into mechanical engineering processes and design methodologies.
  • Support construction phases by providing technical guidance, resolving engineering issues, and ensuring that mechanical installations align with design criteria and safety standards.
This role is for you if you have these skills:
  • Expertise in developing detailed equipment specifications and comprehensive data sheets for a variety of mechanical systems and equipment skids, ensuring technical accuracy and client satisfaction.
  • Proven ability to engage and collaborate with equipment vendors, assessing and selecting appropriate technology solutions tailored to project requirements and budgets.
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks software for creating sophisticated mechanical design models, facilitating clear visualization and precise engineering documentation.
  • Experience in estimating equipment costs and contributing to the preparation of capital cost estimates, supporting effective project budgeting and financial planning.
  • Strong command of Microsoft Office applications and the agility to quickly adapt to new software tools that enhance project execution and communication.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, enabling clear articulation of complex technical concepts to diverse audiences including clients, team members, and management.
  • Demonstrated leadership and problem-solving skills, capable of navigating project challenges with a collaborative and solution-focused approach.
And if you have these qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
  • 12+ years of professional engineering experience required.
  • 6-10+ years of experience in the EPC/EPCm industry or with an operating company serving the chemical process industry required. Relevant industry experience may include munitions, chemicals, petrochemicals, chemical intermediates, fibers, or related sectors.
