Job summary

Cullerton Group in Mossville, IL seeks a Mechanical Engineer 3 for a 12-month, 100% onsite assignment at the Mossville Tech Center. The role is primarily first shift (7:00 AM–3:00 PM) with up to 25% travel for testing, and compensation is up to $44/hr with full benefits.

You will support testing and validation of large-engine components and systems, focusing on engine structures, dynamics, vibration, and structural failure analysis, including hands-on bench testing and data analysis.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering.
• 4+ years of testing experience; internship counts.
• Experience as Mechanical Engineer, Test Engineer, Development Engineer, or Development/Research Engineer.
• Basic understanding of internal combustion engines and machinery.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation.
• Strong project management, initiative, attention to detail, technical communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work across multiple engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop, conduct, analyze, and manage engine structures and dynamics validation tests.
• Evaluate structural failure modes and provide technical guidance for product development.
• Perform vibration, stress/strain, modal, and structural testing on engine components.
• Utilize data acquisition and analysis systems such as eDAQ, LMS, cDAQ, ME-SCOPE, and related instrumentation.
• Coordinate prototype hardware, test setups, instrumentation, and gaging while managing project plans and reports.
• Collaborate with design, simulation, technicians, and other engineering teams to resolve field issues and improve product quality.
