K2M Design is seeking an experienced AEC Mechanical Engineer to contribute to large, complex projects. This role is remote for the right candidate and requires collaborating with project teams to deliver trusted, high‑quality engineering solutions.

Applicants should have a PE license (preferred), 5+ years in the AEC field, and an ABET‑accredited engineering degree. Residency in EST/CST time zones is required to align with project needs.

Position Summary

A Engineer who uses experience to perform a variety of assignments requiring skills in all aspects of engineering design for large and complex projects, serving as an SME on areas of expertise.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Provides professional engineering consultation in the planning, design, and coordination of large, complex projects.
• Acts as liaison with Project Management, Architects, other Engineers, and consultants.
• Carries out complex or novel assignments requiring the development of new or improved techniques and procedures.
• Develops and represents the lead technical viewpoint on projects.
• Coordinates with Director on appropriate technical solutions and product strategies.
• Coordinates activities and provides developmental support/training to less experienced staff.
• Uses skills to resolve conflicting design requirements.
• Provides QA/QC review of deliverables.
• Prepares reports and client correspondence on assigned projects.
• Travels for client meetings, consultant coordination, site surveys, construction administration, etc. 15% of time reserved for travel.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Applied Science from an ABET accredited college or university.
• 5+ years experience in the field of AEC Engineering.
• Professional Engineering License, preferred.
• Position only available to candidates residing in EST and CST time zones.
