Job summary

DNOW is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to provide technical support within Power Service. You will size and design pressure-retaining vessels per ASME VIII and respond to technical questions on pumps, piping, and valves.

Responsibilities include running Promax process simulations, creating Excel tools, and validating Inventor models. Strong engineering background and CAD proficiency required for teamwork and problem solving.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in mechanical engineering required.
  • Experience relevant to mechanical design and analysis needed.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Proficient with Office suite and CAD software.

Responsibilities

  • Size and design pressure retaining vessels per ASME VIII.
  • Answer technical questions on pumps, vessels, piping, valves.
  • Run process simulations to predict outcomes of scenarios.
  • Create Excel programs to benefit company operations.
  • Run Inventor simulations and verify calculations.

The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for providing technical support to the rest of Power Service. This will include code comparisons, design considerations, and process analysis.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Size and design pressure retaining vessels in accordance with ASME Section VIII code
  • Answer technical questions for co-workers regarding pumps, pressure vessels, piping, and valves
  • Run process simulations on Promax that will help predict the outcome of different process scenarios
  • Create Excel programs that will benefit the company in various ways
  • Run Inventor simulations that will model pressure vessel designs check calculations with the program
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering
  • Relevant experience and knowledge required
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Computer skills (Microsoft Office – Excel and Word, and AutoCAD/Autodesk program(s))
  • Make and be responsible for decisions, while following established guidelines, policies, and procedures.
  • Analytical skills, objectivity and organizational skills.
