Job summary

Insight Global seeks a Mechanical Engineer to join a defense client in Cedar Creek, TX. You will develop complex mechanical hardware from concept through testing and production, using 3D CAD, FEA, and GD&T to ensure reliability and manufacturability.

In this hands-on role, you’ll collaborate with technicians, machinists, suppliers, and production teams, translate test results into design refinements, and support campaigns with extended hours during testing.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or relevant fields of study.
• 2-5 years of hands-on mechanical design experience, with designs that you owned from concept to production.
• SolidWorks proficiency, FEA experience, and working use of GD&T.
• Clear technical writing and availability to work extended hours during testing campaigns.

This Mechanical Engineer will support the development of complex mechanical hardware from initial concept through testing and production. The role involves 3D CAD, FEA, GD&T, tolerance analysis, prototyping, and translating test results into design improvements. You’ll work closely with technicians, machinists, suppliers, and production teams to ensure designs are reliable, manufacturable, and ready for release. This is a hands-on engineering position in a fast-paced development environment.

Required Skills & Experience

• BS in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or relevant fields of study
• 2-5 years of hands-on mechanical design experience, with designs that you owned from concept to production
• SolidWorks proficiency, FEA experience, and working use of GD&T
• Clear technical writing and availability to work extended hours during testing campaigns

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

• ANSYS experience, especially nonlinear contact, large deformation, or transient shock loading
