Job summary

Strativ Group in Santa Clara is seeking a mechanical design engineer to design and develop satellite structures and mechanisms, and to deliver 3D models, assemblies, and manufacturing documentation.

You will own designs from concept through prototype to flight-ready hardware, and you will collaborate with manufacturing, assembly, integration, and test teams to ensure performance under mass and environmental constraints.

Qualifications

• Requires space-industry experience with satellite structures and mechanisms.
• Strong hands-on mechanical CAD design experience (5+ years).
• Proficient in SolidWorks; understands mass constraints and extreme environments.

Responsibilities

• Own mechanical designs from concept through prototype to flight-ready hardware.
• Produce 3D models, assemblies, engineering drawings, and manufacturing documentation.
• Support manufacturing, assembly, integration, and testing activities.

Job description

Design and develop satellite structures and mechanisms, producing 3D models, assemblies, engineering drawings, and manufacturing documentation. Own mechanical designs from concept through prototype and flight-ready hardware, and support manufacturing, assembly, integration, and testing.

Requirements: Requires space-industry experience, ideally with satellite or spacecraft structures and mechanisms, and strong hands-on mechanical CAD design experience, ideally five or more years. Candidates should be proficient in SolidWorks or comparable CAD software and understand spacecraft design constraints, including mass limits and extreme operating environments; experience taking designs through manufacturing and testing is also expected.
