Job summary

Salient Motion, based in Michigan, seeks a mechanical/electromechanical design engineer to design production hardware and test equipment for aerospace and defense sectors.

You will perform design and analysis of electromechanical systems, collaborate across the organization to develop requirements, and oversee contract manufacturers while working with PCBAs and electronics enclosures. Bachelor's degree required and 2+ years' experience.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in mechanical or related engineering required.
2+ years of full design-cycle experience from ideation to production.
Experience designing for electrical enclosures.
Knowledge of DFM and GD&T.

What you'll do:

Design production hardware and test equipment
Design and analysis of Electromechanical Systems
Work across all levels of the organization to develop design requirements
Select and manage contract manufacturers for a variety of manufacturing processes
Work with PCBAs and electronics enclosures

What you need:

Bachelor's degree in mechanical or related engineering discipline
2+ years of experience with the full design cycle from ideation to production
Design experience in NX or other CAD package
General knowledge of designing for electrical enclosures
Knowledge of DFM and GD&T

Nice to have:

Gearbox design and fabrication
Strong understanding in electromechanical actuator design and analysis
