Job summary

Salient Motion, Inc., based in Hawthorne, CA, seeks an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to drive board-level development for our modular motion technologies. You will analyze requirements, select components, and deliver schematic captures and documentation using Altium.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s degree in EE/EC, 3+ years of hardware design, and hands-on lab skills. You will support manufacturing, test, and future growth, with equity included and comprehensive health benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical or computer engineering or related field.
• 3+ years of electrical hardware design experience with schematic capture and PCB layout.
• Strong understanding of circuit design fundamentals and EE principles.
• Experience with basic testing equipment and lab practices.

Responsibilities

• Electrical design and documentation per product requirements.
• Use Altium to design board layouts.
• Develop work instruction packages for manufacturing and test of circuit card assemblies.
• Perform electrical evaluation and selection of instrumentation (temperature, pressure, position, etc.).
• Review test data and recommend product/process changes.
• Assist in growing the team by interviewing candidates.

What you'll do:

• Electrical design, product requirements, component selection, analysis, schematic capture, and documentation
• Using Altium to design board layouts according to given requirements
• Develop and generate work instruction packages for manufacturing and test of circuit card assemblies
• Perform electrical evaluation and selection of instrumentation (temperature, pressure, position, etc.)
• Review test data and recommend changes to products and processes
• Assist in growing the team by interviewing potential candidates

What you need:

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical or computer engineering; or other engineering degree
• 3+ years of electrical hardware design experience, including schematic capture and PCB layout
• Strong understanding of electric circuit design fundamentals and electrical engineering principles
• Familiarity with basic electronic lab equipment, such as: power supplies, oscilloscopes, DMMs, signal generators, and soldering irons
• Experience in creation of design verification test plans and test execution
