Prefix Corporation in Rochester Hills, MI is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to lead design and development from concept through production.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, prepare BOMs, and ensure manufacturability with SolidWorks and DFMEA processes.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Associate’s Degree with equivalent experience.
• At least two years of design release experience, preferably in amusement industry.
• Experience in CAD, preferably SolidWorks.
• Hands-on approach to design, metal fabrication and machining experience preferred.
• Technical writing experience for engineering analysis reports.
• Demonstrated team-based and creative problem-solving abilities.
• Passion for quality and exceeding expectations.
• Flexible and open to variety of projects.

Responsabilidades

• Provide expert technical direction coordinating cross-functional product development teams.
• Design product applications for specified projects and evaluate methods and materials.
• Collaborate with shop floor to transfer design to production.
• Organize complex activities for design, development, and implementation of amusement industry products.
• Oversee manufacturing of products and process optimization.
• Interface with customers and company meetings related to the project.
• CAD 2D/3D development and supervision of CAD team on the project.
• Create and maintain a Bill of Material (BoM) for the project.

What you will do

• Provide expert technical direction in coordinating, facilitating, motivating and directing efforts of cross-functional product development teams.
• Design product applications for specified projects and evaluate and develop methods and materials to support the job.
• Work alongside the shop floor to take product from design to production.
• Responsible for the organization of highly complex activities for the design, development, and implementation of amusement industry products.
• Oversee the manufacturing of products and process optimization.
• Interface and participate in customer and company meetings relating to the project.
• CAD 2D/3D product development and giving direction/supervision of CAD team working on project.
• Create and maintain a Bill of Material (BoM) for the project.
• Compile a complete engineering analysis for critical aspects of the project

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Associate’s Degree with equivalent experience.
• At least two years of applicable design release experience, preferably in the amusement industry.
• Experience in CAD, preferably SolidWorks
• Hands on approach to product design, metal fabrication and machining experience preferred.
• Technical writing experience, specifically with respect to engineering analysis reports.
• A demonstrated team-based and creative approach to problem solving
• Passion for creating quality work and ensuring that the final product consistently exceeds expectations.
• Flexible and open to the variety of projects that will be a part of this role.
• Candidate must be legally authorized to work in the United States of America for any employer without restrictions or expirations
