Job description

Licensed Mechanical Engineer (PE) – Building Systems | DFW (Hybrid)

Supporting a growing, Texas-based engineering firm adding another senior engineer to its core team due to sustained growth. This is a high-ownership, client-facing role for a licensed Professional Engineer who wants real responsibility, visibility, and the opportunity to run projects end-to-end, not sit in a silo.

We are specifically targeting Mechanical or Electrical Engineers with a Texas PE who are strong in at least two MEP disciplines and willing to upskill in the third. The most successful engineers on our team come from engineering firms where they were cross-trained and trusted to own projects.

What You’ll Do
  • Serve as a project owning engineer, responsible for MEP system design from concept through construction
  • Design and coordinate mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems for residential (multifamily) and commercial projects
  • Act as (or grow into) the stamping engineer across all three MEP disciplines
  • Work directly with clients, architects, and contractors
  • Perform site visits, review drawings, and ensure code compliant designs
  • Manage multiple projects concurrently in a lean, fast-moving environment
  • Continue cross-training into disciplines outside your primary background with firm-supported resources and mentorship
What We’re Looking For
Required
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Texas
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
  • Minimum 5+ years of building systems design experience
  • Strong depth in Mechanical or Electrical, with working knowledge of the other
  • Experience designing mechanical, electrical or plumbing systems for residential and/or commercial buildings
  • Comfortable taking ownership and interfacing directly with clients
Ideal (but not mandatory)
  • Background in a small or mid-sized engineering firm
  • Mechanical engineers with electrical exposure (or vice versa)
  • Willingness to learn and stamp plumbing systems over time
  • Desire for long-term growth, not a narrow technical silo
Why Engineers Join
  • Ownership mentality
  • Direct access to leadership
  • Clear path to increased compensation tied to performance, not tenure
  • Hybrid model (currently one day/week in-office) with flexibility
  • Support, training, and resources to expand into all MEP discipline
Location
  • Relocation considered for standout engineers with the right background
