DeVal Lifecycle Support in Philadelphia, PA is seeking a highly motivated Mechanical Engineer focused on design engineering to contribute to mechanical systems and components from concept through production. You will perform FEA with ANSYS or similar tools and create precise technical drawings and documentation.

This role offers hands-on project work, collaboration with manufacturing and quality teams, and opportunities to grow through training and expanded responsibilities in a defense

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in mechanical engineering or closely related field.
• Strong proficiency in SolidWorks and CAD modeling.
• Experience with FEA and hand calculations preferred.

Responsibilities

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated Mechanical Engineer with a strong focus on design engineering to join our team. The ideal candidate will contribute to the design and development of mechanical systems and components, perform finite element analysis (FEA) using ANSYS or other simulation software, create technical documentation, and support engineering projects from concept through production. This position is open to recent graduates with a strong technical foundation and a willingness to learn.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and refine designs for mechanical or electromechanical components and assemblies using SolidWorks.
• Perform Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to evaluate structural, thermal, and mechanical performance of components and assemblies.
• Create and maintain detailed technical drawings and specifications.
• Produce clear, concise, and accurate technical documentation,2-D Drawings, including design reports, procedures, and user manuals.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, quality, and testing to ensure designs meet functional, safety, and manufacturability requirements.
• Support prototype development, testing, and evaluation of new products.
• Apply engineering principles to troubleshoot and resolve design and performance issues.
• Continuously learn and adopt best practices in design, analysis, documentation, and industry standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Strong proficiency in SolidWorks including CAD modeling and assembly design.
• Experience performing FEA and hand calculations.

• Solid understanding of engineering principles and materials.
