Job summary

BAE Systems, Inc. is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to perform basic design, analysis, and documentation for assigned project portions. The role emphasizes collaboration with experienced professionals to advance your career while contributing to national security.

Responsibilities include applying engineering principles, developing technical documents, and maintaining customer relationships, with a 2–3 days on-site and 2 days remote work pattern on a 9/80 schedule, plus every other Friday off.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace Engineering or related field.
  • Entry level knowledge of fundamental concepts in a technical field.
  • Familiarity with computer applications and technologies in engineering disciplines.
  • Ability to solve basic technical design and development problems.
  • Ability to develop and maintain relationships with customers to solve technical problems.
  • Good communication skills (verbal and written).

As a Mechanical Engineer, You Will
  • Perform basic engineering design, development, analysis, experimentation, test and/or product assurance tasks of limited complexity for assigned portions of a project. Ensure tasks meet cost, quality, schedule, and performance requirements.
  • Apply basic engineering design and/or analytical theory, principles, techniques, and practices to a limited portion of a technical project.
  • Develop and write technical documentation, revise existing documentation, and provide input to technical papers or presentations.
  • Perform basic technical analysis, testing, calculations, and evaluation of results using specialized equipment and/or by computer programs.
  • Analyzes and interprets design specifications, drawings, documentation, models, and/or test results to ensure technical designs comply with applicable engineering standards, military specifications and product requirements.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with customers to solve technical problems and implement solutions of limited complexity.
  • Acquire and maintains up-to-date knowledge of relevant engineering discipline(s), industry practices, trends, and applications.
  • Maintain a safe work environment and ensure compliance with safety policies and rules.
  • Share responsibility of self-development with immediate supervisor.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
  • Bachelor's degree (B.S.) - Mechanical, Aerospace Engineering or related field.
  • Entry level knowledge of fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures of a relevant technical field of specialization.
  • Familiarity with current computer applications and technologies in applicable engineering disciplines.
  • Ability to solve basic technical design and development problems.
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with customers to solve technical problems.
  • Good communication skills (verbal and written)
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
  • Proficient with MS Office applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Visio
  • Experience with PTC Creo, Pro/Engineer, or equivalent
  • Experience with MATLAB or Finite Element Analysis tools such as ANSYS is a plus
Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $64926 - $110374

Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
