Job summary

BAE Systems, Inc. is seeking a skilled Technician V in Minnesota to support development, production, and integration of weapon-system products.

You will assemble, troubleshoot, calibrate, test, and maintain equipment, leveraging CAD/CAM tools and machining capabilities. The role requires at least 5 years in a technical mechanical/electromechanical environment, crane and forklift operation, and strong documentation skills.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a relevant field preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a technical role with focus on mechanical, electromechanical, and/or optical areas.
  • Proven experience with mechanical assembly, including fabrication, machining, and testing.
  • Valid overhead crane operator certification or ability to obtain within 6 months.
  • Experience operating forklifts and other material handling equipment.
  • Proficient in using various tools and equipment, such as machining tools, test equipment, and measurement instruments.

Responsibilities

  • Mechanical Assembly and Fabrication: Construct, assemble, and fabricate mechanical, electromechanical, and/or optical components, devices, and systems, ensuring precise tolerances and specifications.
  • Troubleshooting and Repair: Identify and troubleshoot issues with equipment, components, devices, or systems, and perform repairs, calibrations, and adjustments as needed.
  • Testing and Validation: Develop and implement test procedures to validate the performance of equipment, components, devices, or systems, ensuring compliance with specifications and regulatory requirements.
  • Machining and Fabrication: Utilize machining capabilities, such as lathes, milling machines, and grinders, to fabricate parts and components.
  • Overhead Crane and Material Handling: Operate overhead cranes, forklifts, and other material handling equipment to move and position heavy components, devices, or systems.
  • Quality Control: Inspect and test equipment, components, devices, or systems to ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records and documentation of work performed, test results, and maintenance activities.
  • CAD/CAM Skills: Utilize computer-aided design (CAD) and computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) software to design, develop, and manufacture parts and components.

Key Responsibilities

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in a technical role, with a focus on mechanical, electromechanical, and/or optical areas.
  • Mechanical Assembly: Proven experience with mechanical assembly, including fabrication, machining, and testing.
  • Overhead Crane Operation: Valid overhead crane operator certification or ability to obtain within 6 months.
  • Forklift Experience: Experience operating forklifts and other material handling equipment.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in using various tools and equipment, such as machining tools, test equipment, and measurement instruments.
CAD/CAM Skills:

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
  • Experience with weapon systems: Familiarity with weapon systems, including design, development, and testing.
  • Programming skills: Knowledge of programming languages, G and M Codes, CAM Softwares.
  • Certifications: Relevant certifications, such as AS9100 or ISO 9001, are desirable.
  • Collaboration and teamwork: Experience working in a team environment, with strong communication and collaboration skills.
Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $74508 - $119213

Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
