Job summary

Job description

Responsibilities
  • Lead product development and structural design activities relevant to design of a commercial refrigerator
  • Communicating and collaborating effectively within or outside organization with vendors and suppliers
  • Optimization of design using Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Assembly (DFA) principles
  • Engineering design using hand calculations and analysis of 1D/2D engineering models
  • Troubleshooting using DFMEA and root cause analysis
  • Design of jigs, fixtures and statistical tolerance stack up studies
  • Design of Sheetmetal, Plastic Extrusions, Aluminum extrusions, and Injection molded plastic components
  • Generating and presenting reports for design approval
  • Drafting and publishing internal engineering standards and procedures
Requirements
  • Mechanical Engineering degree (bachelor’s with 7+ year experience or master’s with 5+ year experience)
  • Competency with structural design and analysis
  • Knowledge of Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
  • Hands-on engineering and prototype testing for reliability and product life cycle is a plus
