Job summary

Actalent, Inc. is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to design HVAC equipment under supervision, performing design calculations and evaluating HVAC system options to meet industry standards.

You will prepare design documents and coordinate with architects and other engineers, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery. The role requires collaboration with senior engineers, familiarity with building codes, and experience in healthcare, data centers, or central plants.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience as a Mechanical Engineer (HVAC) required.
• Proficient in mechanical design and AutoCAD; knowledge of Revit a plus.
• Familiar with building design codes and ASHRAE standards; LEED knowledge preferred.

Job description

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to design HVAC equipment under the guidance of a professional engineer. You will perform system design calculations, analyze HVAC system options with industry standards, and be familiar with relevant building codes and standards. You will work closely with senior engineers and project principals to prepare design documents, including plumbing and fire protection systems, and coordinate work with architects and engineers of other disciplines. Your role will also involve managing personal tasks for technical accuracy and timely delivery in liaison with senior engineers.

Work Environment

You will work on multiple project types, primarily within the metro area. Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of New York, NY.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $55.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
