What You’ll Do

As a Mechanical Engineer, you’ll apply standard design engineering techniques on small projects or selected segments of larger work—supporting analyses, drawings, coordination, and client communication while developing toward responsible charge under the guidance of senior engineers.

  • Begin assuming responsible charge for portions of project designs under the supervision of theEOR and within your control and expertise.
  • Develop design approaches and concepts with conceptual input/oversight from the EOR;perform engineering studies and analyses using industry software.
  • Oversee preparation of drawings and documentation; ensure accuracy, neatness, andadherence to standards; review colleague work and provide feedback.
  • Coordinate equipment and overall design space requirements with the architect and otherdisciplines; communicate design requirements clearly.
  • Attend internal kickoff/design meetings and meetings with owners/clients/architects as needed;document decisions and action items.
  • Coordinate with authorities, utilities, and municipalities to incorporate construction, code, andgovernment requirements.
  • Assist with discipline man‑hour budgets; plan work to schedule and report progress, risks, andneeded changes to the project manager.
  • Perform studies, load calculations, and equipment selection appropriate to the project design;review work for technical accuracy before QA/QC.
  • Respond to contractor and supplier questions during bid and construction; review shopdrawings and submittals.
  • Conduct site visits to monitor progress and observe installed construction; comment based ondesign specifications, owner expectations, and codes.
  • Maintain detailed records of communications with clients, contractors, vendors, and teammembers; contribute to lessons learned.
