Description

You will be the Mechanical Engineer for the Special Operations Forces Global Logistics Support Services (SOFGLSS) team. Our team is responsible for designing and completing modifications on various military vehicle and aircraft platforms in support of the warfighter. What You Will Be Doing As the Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for applying your mechanical engineering expertise to design and modify military vehicles and aircraft. Your work will directly impact the success of US service men and women deployed worldwide. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Designing and completing modifications on military vehicle and aircraft platforms
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure proper equipping of the SOF community and its warfighters
  • Applying mechanical engineering principles to develop innovative solutions
  • Working closely with stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver high-quality results
  • Contributing to the mission of rapidly and properly equipping the SOF community with the best possible systems and equipment

MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN - This position is located at a facility that requires special access. The selected candidate must possess an active Secret clearance to start.

Basic Qualifications

Ability to Work Remotely

Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.

Work Schedules

Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
