Job description

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Mechanical Designer/Engineer to join our project teams in designing and preparing mechanical system construction documents for healthcare, higher education, and commercial building projects. The ideal candidate will collaborate with project teams throughout the design and construction process, ensuring mechanical plans align with budget constraints, project requirements, and client expectations.

This role requires a strong background in healthcare design, excellent organizational skills, and effective communication abilities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Perform technical design and quality control for assigned projects, including mechanical system calculations and layouts.
  • Maintain best practices in engineering methods and ensure compliance with current mechanical and energy codes.
  • Prepare construction documents for new builds, renovations, and facility additions.
  • Conduct construction administration, including site visits and shop drawing reviews.
  • Research and apply project-related data as requested by the project manager.
  • Assist in drafting and reviewing project specifications.
  • Update and revise drawings based on quality assurance feedback.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Education: Bachelors Degree in Architectural or Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 3 years in the engineering field.
    • Experience in HVAC systems, ductwork, and hydronic design.
    • Expertise in designing mechanical systems for healthcare, higher education, and commercial buildings.
  • Knowledge of current mechanical and energy codes.
CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES:
  • Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Exam required.
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license preferred but not required.
  • Valid drivers license and willingness to use an insured personal vehicle for work-related travel.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Trane Trace, and Revit.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Effective time management and multitasking abilities to meet project deadlines.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work permanently in the country where this position is located without the need for sponsorship.
