Job summary

EMJD Precision Fabrication in Englewood, CO, is seeking a Programmer and Engineer to analyze customer drawings, program manufacturing equipment, and ensure efficient operations. The role reports to the lead engineer and involves designing, debugging, and optimizing processes across laser, punch, press brake, and marking systems.

Candidates should have a degree in engineering and experience with SolidWorks or CAD software, plus knowledge of Trumpf/AMADA sheet metal equipment.

The Position:

The Programmer and Engineer will be responsible to support our engineering and programming team in the analysis of customer drawings, programming these drawings into manufacturing equipment, and ensuring efficient operations of EMJD technology and equipment. This role reports to our lead engineer.

Responsibilities:

• Analyze customer drawings and provide feedback on issues and concerns
• Assess EMJD’s capability to fulfill customer demands
• Support with the preparation of customer quotes
• Process customer orders and create travelers to guide manufacturing
• Support purchasing efforts, including raw material, hardware, and special tooling
• Assist the manufacturing foreman and lead engineer in managing production schedule
• Create laser, punch, and press brake programs
• Operate robotic press brake
• Program and operate laser marker (engraver/etcher)
• Provide design and engineering consultation to customers
• Implement productivity and automation initiatives across operational processes
• Operate all engineering software (including SolidWorks, Trumpf Boost, etc.)
• Support the manufacturing and quality team to ensure we meet customer requirements
• Support production and shop organization and cleaning efforts
• Prepare and move metal materials in the shop
• Operate hardware installation machines
• Operate press brakes
• Clean warehouse space and equipment
• Pack finished products on pallets for customer delivery
• Load and unload metal products onto and off of trucks

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or associate’s degree in engineering or similar field preferred.
• Experience working with engineering and programming software required; experience with SolidWorks or related CAD software preferred.
• Experience working with Trumpf and Amada sheet metal fabrication equipment preferred.
• Hard-working and humble personality.
• Ability to work under pressure.
• Commitment to identifying problems and finding solutions.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work on your feet for eight hours per day.
• Ability to pass a drug test (including marijuana) and commit to a drug and substance-free environment.

Salary & Benefits:

• Compensation: Dependent on experience, starting at a salary of $50,000 annually
• Benefits: Health care, 401(k) match up to 6% of wages (after six months), paid holidays, paid vacation time, plus possible quarterly profit-sharing bonuses.
• Hours: Full-time, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday.
