Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to design and develop transmission systems for medium wheel loader applications. You will support NPI, CPI, cost reduction, and field issue resolution, working with gears, bearings, shafts, seals, and rotating drivetrain components.

The role requires Creo experience and collaboration with global engineering, manufacturing, validation, supplier, and purchasing teams. This contract position is onsite in East Peoria, IL with competitive hourly pay.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Experience with transmission, drivetrain, powertrain, or engine component design.
• Proficiency with Creo or similar 3D CAD software.
• Experience working with rotating mechanical components such as gears, bearings, shafts, or seals.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Create and modify 3D models and engineering drawings in Creo and release designs through Teamcenter.
• Support design reviews and component development for transmission and drivetrain systems.
• Investigate field and production issues, perform root cause analysis, and present findings and recommendations.
• Evaluate manufacturing deviation requests and determine appropriate disposition of nonconforming components.
• Provide engineering support to the East Peoria manufacturing facility for transmission assembly and test activities.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, validation, procurement, supplier quality, and controls engineering.
• Research and evaluate new drivetrain technologies to support future product development.

Job description

Job Title: Mechanical Engineer

Design Engineer to support the design and development of transmission systems used in Medium Wheel Loader applications. This role supports New Product Introduction (NPI), Continuous Product Improvement (CPI), cost reduction initiatives, field issue resolution, and factory support. The engineer will work with gears, bearings, shafts, seals, and other rotating drivetrain components while collaborating with global engineering, manufacturing, validation, supplier, and purchasing teams.

Responsibilities

• Create and modify 3D models and engineering drawings in Creo and release designs through Teamcenter.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of East Peoria, IL.

Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $44.00 - $54.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
