Actalent is seeking a contract engineer for East Peoria, IL, to lead and execute complex power plant design projects. The role focuses on meeting project deadlines, budgeting, and delivering robust engineering solutions across multiple disciplines.

Travel to plant sites for on-site assessments is expected. We value experience with NPI, NEC, and Windchill PLM in data center or nuclear-related projects, with a mindset toward high-quality, compliant engineering deliverables and customer-focused

Qualifications

• Supports a variety of projects ranging from major power plant modifications to smaller design initiatives.
• Leads or participates in design initiatives for cooling water systems, pumps, motors, control systems, piping and heat exchangers in power plants.

• Answer questions and provide support during production.
• Answer questions and provide support during testing.
• Provide technical assistance to sales.
• Provide composite drawings during quoting stage when needed.
• Answer questions and provide technical support for quotes.
• Provide submittal and approval drawings when needed.
• Coordinate with electrical engineers regarding switchgear and cabling.
• Discuss design with electrical engineer for clarification.

In this role, you'll support a variety of projects ranging from major power plant modifications to smaller design initiatives. One day, you may be working as part of a multi-discipline engineering team on cooling water systems, including pumps, motors, control systems, piping, and heat exchangers for existing or new power plants. Another day, you may be leading a valve replacement project, evaluating equipment options, or preparing technical reports such as corrosion studies or evaluations of equipment options. Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $60.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
