Job summary

Faith Technologies Incorporated is seeking a Mechanical Engineer for the Product Engineering team in Menasha, WI, to design and qualify mechanical and electro-mechanical components used in renewable energy, microgrid, EV charging, crypto mining, and data center markets.

You will collaborate across disciplines to translate high-level requirements into detailed designs, create BOMs, and support prototypes through production, ensuring manufacturability and serviceability.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Internship or 6 months of work experience.
  • Working knowledge in 2D/3D CAD design software (Inventor, CATIA, SolidWorks, Creo).
  • Design experience with structural enclosures, mechanical assemblies, HVAC systems, mechanical piping, firefighting systems, and power generation.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and schematics.
  • Experience in Bill of Material creation and Change Notice processes.
  • Experience in mechanical components or equipment within the energy industry.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Experience in the design and development of electrical components.
  • PLC programming experience.
  • 2 years of product design experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Reviews technical drawings and mechanical specifications for proper application.
  • Supports design of mechanical components and sub-systems for power/low voltage products.
  • Performs detailed design calculations to meet project requirements.
  • Studies applicable government and industry standards for products.
  • Produces documentation: mechanical layouts, prints, assemblies, and compliance documents.
  • Interacts with Engineering, Manufacturing, Purchasing, and Industrial Engineering teams.
  • Participates in design reviews and meetings.
  • Supports creation of 2D prints and 3D models for parts and assemblies.
  • Develops BOM structures for modular product configurability.
  • Prepares Bills of Materials and Change Notices.
  • Assists with costing to meet pricing targets.
  • Supports creation of technical manuals for operation and maintenance.
  • Self-checks work for accuracy to drawings and standards.
  • Provides technical assistance for prototypes and production.
  • Collaborates with suppliers to integrate components.
  • Supports service, aftermarket, and installation teams.

FTI is searching for a Mechanical Engineer to support the Product Engineering team located in Menasha, WI. The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for designing and/or specifying mechanical and electro-mechanical parts and assemblies that will be used within products that are used within the renewable energy, microgrid, EV charging, crypto mining, and data center markets.

The Mechanical Engineer will support the Design Engineering team in the design and qualification of mechanical components, sub-systems, multi-level assemblies, and system architecture of various products that are used within the energy industry. This position will also work with other disciplines within the organization to understand customer and market requirements, design products to be easy to both manufacture and assemble, support products as they go through the Product Development Process, and support service and aftermarket needs.

This position will work within the Design Engineering team and need to coordinate their work with other individuals to meet project requirements, timelines, and goals. The ability to understand high-level requirements and create detail-level requirements and designs will be key to meeting project objectives. This position will require an understanding of drawing standards, Change Notice practices, and the ability to create Bills of Materials based on their design output.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent

Travel: 10-25%

Work Schedule: This position works between the hours of 7 AM and 5 PM, Monday- Friday. However, work may be performed at any time on any day of the week to meet business needs.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Reviews technical drawings and mechanical specifications to ensure proper application of products within mechanical and electro-mechanical assemblies.
  • Supports the design of mechanical components and sub-systems for power/low voltage products including component selection, general layouts, assembly design and installation.
  • Performs detailed design calculations to ensure design compliance with project requirements.
  • Studies and understands related government and industry standards that govern the products being developed.
  • Produce relevant documentation needed to meet project goals, mechanical layouts, mechanical component prints, mechanical assemblies, and compliance documents. Interacts with the Engineering, Manufacturing, Purchasing, Industrial Engineering staff on a regular basis.
  • Participate and present technical information during design meetings or reviews.
  • Supports the creation of 2D prints and 3D models for piece parts components.
  • Supports the creation of complex 3D layouts of top-level and sub-level assemblies.
  • Help develop product Bill of Material structures to allow for modularity and configurability of products.
  • Prepare Bills of Materials and prepare Change Notices to release components and assemblies.
  • Support costing activities to ensure pricing targets are achieved at the project level.
  • Supports the creation of technical manuals for operation and maintenance of related products.
  • Self-checks own work to ensure accuracy to established drawing and design specifications and standards.
  • Provide technical assistance for prototype and pilot builds along with production support as needed.
  • Works with suppliers to integrate various components into higher level system designs.
  • Supports service, aftermarket, and installation teams as needed.
  • Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
