Working within a fast-paced production and manufacturing environment, the engineer collaborates cross-functionally with Manufacturing, Quality, Electrical Engineering, Sales, and Service to drive successful product outcomes, sustain manufacturing throughput, and lead VAVE initiatives. Day-to-day responsibilities include mechanical design support, manufacturing issue resolution, documentation and tooling updates, and product improvements across the UPS, Battery Charger, and Bargraph product lines, from concept through production release.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead project management for Bargraph initiatives from initiation through delivery, defining scope, schedules, and resource needs, and maintaining plans and tracking tools to keep programs on time and on budget.
  • Serve as the mechanical engineering point of contact across the UPS, Battery Charger, and Bargraph product lines, leading cross-functional collaboration with Manufacturing, Quality, and Electrical Engineering throughout the full product lifecycle.
  • Partner with Sales, Quoting, and Service to align product designs with customer, application, and field-support requirements, translating those requirements into manufacturable engineering solutions.
  • Work with Manufacturing and Quality to resolve production concerns and support timely release of updated designs, drawings, BOMs, and work instructions.
  • Support obsolescence management and design updates for legacy Bargraph products.
  • Drive Value Analysis / Value Engineering (VAVE) initiatives, evaluating components, materials, and assembly techniques to reduce cost while maintaining performance and reliability.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering field
  • 3+ years of mechanical design and product-development experience, preferably in a production or manufacturing environment
  • Proficiency with 3D modeling/CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Creo, or Inventor) and AutoCAD, including the creation of 2D drawings and bills of material (BOMs)
  • Working knowledge of sheet metal design, enclosures, PCB/display integration, and assembly processes
  • Working project management skills, including the ability to plan, schedule, and coordinate small projects, with strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management tools (e.g., MS Project)
